Research Finds Restless, Leg Syndrome Linked, To Heart-Related, Illnesses In Women!!!!

If you are a resident of the United States, two of the main causes of death that we are forced to grapple with are heart disease and cancer. There are a number of catalysts for heart disease. Some of them can crop up before we have a chance to become aware of them. According to a new study, those who suffer from restless leg syndrome are, particularly at risk.

Restless leg syndrome is now being linked to the onset of heart disease in older women. The elderly are also at risk. In order to learn more about the link between the two disorders, a research term took the time to look through some important data that was provided by the good people at Nurses Health Study. Over 50,000 women were examined during this study.

This study aimed to find the exact link between the onset of cardiovascular disease in women and the presence of restless leg syndrome. Each of the women had been studied for at least 10 years in order to ensure the most accurate results. They were all in the same age range as well. The average age of each participant in the study was 67 years of age.

The results are certainly eye-opening, to say the least. It is believed that women who suffer from restless leg syndrome are almost 50 percent more likely to experience a heart disease that ends up being fatal. Meanwhile, women who do not suffer from restless leg syndrome are believed that have a significant decrease in their risk factor. The length of time also plays a role.

For example, women who had been suffering from restless leg syndrome for a longer period of time are far more likely to experience a cardiovascular disorder during their lives. The risk of obesity and high blood pressure is also heightened for these women. The research concluded that older women who are currently struggling with restless leg syndrome are going to have to take proactive steps to avoid the difficulties of CVD.

Please share this story with your closest friends and loved ones. Everyone should know about the risk factors that are associated with certain disorders. Taking proper care of ourselves only becomes more difficult as we grow older. That’s why we must be as proactive as possible. If you believe that you are at increased risk, be sure to speak to a medical professional immediately.
